My Romaniacs Blog

Training and preparation

I have been trying over the winter to get out at least 2 days a week. I have also aimed to enter every race possible as when you are out with your friends you can stop and start, talk rubbish to each other and stop if you are tired.

When it’s a race you tend to keep going and push as hard as you can so I have tried to take in every race since I paid my deposit and entered.

Proride Championship Rounds

Six Counties Sprint Events

Ardsberg – a brutal wee track outside Newtownards/Bangor

Torc races in the Republic of Ireland. These are usually long days at least 3.5 hrs riding and averaging between 25km and 45km loops of fire roads, forest, stoney lanes and single track through trees etc and these are really good for building stamina and resilience.
